Vinyasa yoga classes are flowing asana classes that unfold on the breath, utilizing healthy alignment, intelligent sequencing and steady, unbroken attention. All levels classes are vigorous and energizing. The intermediate vinyasa class, for experienced students, offers an opportunity to move deeper into silence and pranayama, deeper into backbends and inversions.
Open hatha yoga classes introduce yoga's eight-fold path, focusing primarily on asana, breath and meditative awareness. Emphasis is on strengthening with standing poses and opening the back body with gentle twists and forward bends. The foundations of sun salutations (surya namaskar) and inversions are introduced. Appropriate for healthy beginners, and those interested in working more slowly.
